Postgraduate Scholarship

Available to students who have completed a degree and intend to pursue further post graduate study. Priority will be given to students born, educated or working in the Taranaki/Waverley area.

Criteria

The Trustees may grant financial assistance to enable students to undergo education or research in all or any of the fields of agriculture, horticulture and all types and purposes of farming either at or through any educational facilities provided by the Trustees, or, where any particular form of education is not so provided, then at such other educational institution or facility as the Trustees may deem fit. Research topics related to the broader Taranaki’s agricultural environment will be given priority. The Scholarship can be held in concurrent with others.

 

Please Note that preference will be given to students born, educated or work in the Taranaki/Waverley area who already hold a Degree in agriculture or horticulture or a related topic are eligible to apply.

 

Applications Close

Closing date for applications is 28th February each year. The Trustees’ decision on the granting of bursaries and scholarships is final.

 

How to Apply

Applications can now be completed online. Please ensure you have prepared the following certified supporting documentation to submit your online application:

  • Letter of intent: Include details of your course of study, why you have chosen this, and any other relevant information (i.e. work history) in support of your application.
  • Certified copies of your previous year’s courses/subjects showing results achieved.
  • Letter of commendation from your supervisor with details of the proposed course and funding sources.
  • Certified copy of documentation to support your eligibility for this scholarship: Either a birth certificate or proof that you were either born, educated or work in the Taranaki/Waverley region. This is not required if you have received a previous bursary from the Trust.
